Did you know that eight out of the ten best-selling computer and accessories products on Amazon.de last year came from a single brand?

That kind of dominance does not happen by accident. It comes from years spent building recognition long before any single sale takes place.

See How Few Brands Control Nearly Half the Category

The top 10 brands in Computer & Accessories generated a combined €1.91 billion last year, around 40% of the entire category's revenue. The remaining 60% splits across a very long list of smaller sellers, most operating far below that scale.

One brand alone holds more than four times the market share of the brand right behind it. That gap sets the terms for how the rest of the category has to compete: fighting for space beneath a leader that most shoppers already trust before they open the search bar.

Growth Inside the Top 10 Splits Sharply

Being in the top 10 says nothing about which direction a brand is heading. Some names on that list grew by double digits last year. Others, despite strong overall sales, lost ground.

A high rank protects a brand for a while. Staying there takes active investment in pricing, listings and visibility, and standing still is enough to fall behind competitors who keep pushing.

Check How Your Brand Stacks Up

Ask yourself these four questions before your next planning cycle:

  • Do you know how your market share compares to the leading brand in your subcategory?
  • Could you name which brands in your space grew fastest last year, and why?
  • Is your catalog built wide or narrow, and does that match what is actually working at the top?
  • Would your sales hold up against a rival with four times your visibility?

If any of these gave you pause, the underlying data is worth a closer look.

The names, numbers, and business models behind this concentration are laid out in full in our report. It ranks every brand and product driving this category, breaks down their pricing, catalog size and sales mix, and shows what separates the ones still growing from the ones losing ground.
