QA Engineer, BiA

  • Full-time
  • Where

    Amsterdam, NL
  • What we’re looking for

At Build in Amsterdam, we've spent years building a solid QA foundation: a generic Playwright-based test framework deployed across multiple client projects, comprehensive documentation, with CI/CD integration. Now we're looking for a QA Engineer who is ready to own and evolve that practice, keeping it sharp as our portfolio of top-tier clients continues to grow.

Build in Amsterdam is an award-winning Amsterdam-based design & development agency. We build digital flagship stores by combining strategy branding and e-commerce. In our amazing office in the heart of Amsterdam, we work with an international team of passionate builders — designers, developers, writers, and strategists — to create award-winning work for both local & international brands like: SuitsupplyMammutAdidasPolaroidMoooi & Vitra.

    Role Responsibilities:

    • Maintain and extend our generic Playwright-based test framework, deployed across all client projects
    • Own and evolve shared QA documentation and test coverage standards across the portfolio
    • Collaborate closely with Developers, Designers, and Project Managers to ship the best possible digital products
    • Create and maintain automated and manual test suites across devices and environments
    • Analyze bugs and errors, document test results, and validate fixed issues
    • Develop and run E2E tests, checkout tests, SEO validation tests, and API monitoring checks
    • Proactively monitor test results and integrate real-time reporting
    • Define and maintain a QA release checklist for critical flows to guarantee quality pre- and post-release
    • Recommend improvements to enhance user experience and overall development workflows
    • Continuously optimize and scale our QA tooling and automation strategy as our client portfolio grows
    • Help shape how we integrate AI into our QA workflow — from test generation to intelligent monitoring
  • Requirements

    • Have solid experience as a QA Engineer within complex and scalable projects in a digital or agency environment
    • Are experienced with Playwright (our primary framework) for writing and maintaining automated tests
    • Can own and improve a well-documented QA framework — without needing to rebuild it from scratch
    • Help sustain and evolve a mature QA practice — keeping it sharp as our client portfolio grows
    • Are comfortable context-switching across multiple simultaneous client projects in an agency setting
    • Have experience with e-commerce platforms and understand critical flows like buying flows, checkout, and account creation
    • Have experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions or similar)
    • Are familiar with test monitoring and reporting tools
    • Know how to test APIs and set up synthetic monitoring for uptime and endpoint reliability
    • Have a strong sense of UI/UX and Accessibility Testing principles, even if execution is in collaboration with design
    • Are structured in using tools for test planning and logging
    • Are familiar with agile frameworks and sprint-based release cycles
    • Have experience or strong interest in AI-driven test tooling
    • Have strong oral and written English communication skills
    • Have a collaborative, problem-solving, and flexible attitude
    • Have an eye for detail and quality at every level
  • Benefits

    • A full-time job in a passionate & international team
    • Good work-life balance 🚲
    • Beautiful office in the centre of Amsterdam 🇳🇱
    • Daily fresh cooked lunch by our own chef
    • Gym subscription & weekly sports activities available
    • Unlimited access to mental wellbeing platform OpenUp
    • Free access to the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam
    • Occasional evening gathering & an unforgettable annual company trip 🏄‍♀️
    • A competitive salary, depending on your experience & skills
    • Competitive pension
