Creative partnership with Suitsupply since 2018
Suitsupply was founded in 2000 as one of the first omnichannel brands in the world. Since 2018, Build in Amsterdam, powered by Front Row, has operated as their global creative lead. Through an ongoing partnership with their internal teams, we ensure all touchpoints are constantly aligned with their brand promise: “Don’t just fit in, find your own perfect fit”.
Suitsupply provides a radical personal customer approach and brand experience through its 100+ stores worldwide and digital services. It's our job to bridge the gap between their on and offline touchpoints.
Challenge
Suitsupply's greatest obstacle wasn't product, it was perception. Offering high-quality suits and menswear at a competitive price point created an assumption they've had to fight ever since: that affordable means inferior. The challenge was to close that gap between what Suitsupply is and what people assumed it to be.
A second tension ran deeper: the gap between in-store and online. With over 120 physical stores, Suitsupply's ability to measure, tailor and personalise in person is a genuine differentiator, but one that was hard to replicate digitally and was actively holding back online conversion.
Objectives
The objective was to close the gap between Suitsupply's exceptional in-store experience and their digital presence and in doing so, correct the brand perception that competitive pricing meant compromising on quality. Every decision needed to serve their core promise: “Don't just fit in, find your own perfect fit”. That meant building a platform that was visually commanding, deeply personal, and seamless across every channel.
Approach
The design foundation was built on a single principle: minimum UI, maximum content. By stripping back interface noise, we let SuitSupply's products take centre stage, transforming Suitsupply.com into a visually driven platform that feels as considered as the clothes themselves. Every interaction is intentionally intuitive and conversion-focused, It removes friction at every stage of the customer journey, from discovery to purchase. The underlying design system that is built in close collaboration with SuitSupply's development team, keeps every touchpoint consistent and fast to execute.
Bridging the in-store and online experience required purpose-built tools: the Size Passport for saving personal measurements, and the Radical Personal Booking Tool for booking digital or in-store stylist appointments. We extended that same omnichannel thinking to the Custom Made and Black-Tie configurators, used both online and in-store. Customers can start designing from home and pick up where they left off in-store, while style advisors use the very same tools to guide customers through custom orders face-to-face.
We established a new content direction for PDPs and PLPs that elevates the brand while creating a distinctive, ownable visual language that is consistently applied across .com, CRM, ads and social. The Journals took a different role: rather than just functional SEO pages, we turned them into engaging editorial content that performs for search while doubling as entry points from external channels, guiding visitors back to key touchpoints like PDPs, configurators and the booking tool.
