Amazon Upgrades Category Insight Dashboard

Retail MediaBlog

Amazon has quietly supercharged its Category Insight dashboard on Seller Central, turning it into a sharper strategic tool for brands.

Now live in the U.S., the update introduces two high-impact tabs: Top Grossing and Newly Launched.

What’s New

Top Grossing shows the top 10 ASINs by revenue in any category over the past 12 months, including total sales and unit volume. It reveals where the real volume is, and who’s capturing it.

Newly Launched surfaces the 10 most successful new ASINs from the past six months, complete with performance trends. It’s a direct view into what’s working right now.

Why It Matters

These additions shift the dashboard from retrospective trend-spotting to forward-looking strategy.

Brands can now validate product ideas, assess competition, and identify category momentum with real data, not guesswork.

Our Take at Front Row

This update is a tactical edge for brands operating on Amazon:

  • Spot whitespace and validate product ideas early
  • Pinpoint shifts in buyer behavior
  • Improve category forecasting and SKU planning
  • Reverse-engineer top-performing listings
  • Sharpen product positioning and targeting strategies

Newly Launched is especially useful for spotting gaps fast. Top Grossing helps decode success patterns across content, pricing, and offers – essentially providing a blueprint for scaling.

For brands serious about growth on Amazon, this is a must-use tool. At Front Row, we’re already integrating these insights into our forecasting and go-to-market strategies.
