How to Share Netflix on Instagram Stories

DTC MarketingBlog

With the most recent Instagram update, you can now share Netflix on Instagram stories. Instagram’s recent efforts have been pushing to make Stories more integrative. Previously, Instagram synced up with Spotify to share music on Instagram stories and in September, users have been able to shop directly from Stories. Naturally, Netflix movies and TV shows are the next thing that users can share with their followers. Netflix and Instagram have teamed up to allow Instagrammers to show off what they’ve been marathoning lately. The integration makes it easy to add snaps of Netflix’s most popular programs.

To use the feature, you’ll need to have a Netflix account and both the Netflix and Instagram apps. After you’ve updated the app, you can select the title of a program on the Netflix iOS app to share to Instagram. From here, you have the option to share it directly with certain users, close friends groups or add it directly to your story.

Each program title shared is defaulted to the Netflix cover artwork, but users can further customize stories within the app. You can add all of Instagram’s usual stickers, GIFs, polls, questions, drawings and text to your Netflix movie stories. The best part is, every TV show and movie shared to Instagram links directly back to Netflix! Instagram friends who have the Netflix app will see a “Watch on Netflix” tag on the story, allowing them to stream your favorite show in just one click.

“We’re always on the lookout for ways to make it easier for members to share the Netflix titles they’re obsessing about and help them discover something new to watch. We hope our members enjoy this new feature!” said a Netflix spokesperson.
